Join us for a quick-fire Q&A with HR Advisor, Ayesha Adam. Here she talks about her role, her favourite part of her working week and her experience as a new starter at ATM.
What is your role at ATM?
I’m a HR Advisor and I support managers with ‘people’ related issues, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
How long have you been at ATM?
I’ve been here for four months. I joined in November, but I feel like it has been much longer – I’ve settled into my role really quickly and been made to feel very welcome.

Did you go to college or university? If so, what did you study?
I went to De Montfort University in Leicester and studied HR Management.
Tell us about your experience when first joining ATM?
I have found everyone who works here very friendly. I joined the new intakes on day one to gain an understanding and introduction to the business. Our Learning and Development Trainer, Adil made this fun, interactive and enjoyable.
When I arrive into the office, the first thing I do is…
Head to the team kitchen, make some breakfast and grab a coffee from our fancy coffee shop standard drinks machine!
Tell us about why you decided to pursue your role in HR.
I studied HR at University, so I had a clear career path in mind. At the same time I was looking for progression in my role within the industry, ATM were actively advertising for a HR Advisor role. I applied via a recruitment agency and was invited to an interview one week later.

What excites you about your role?
I love that I get to meet different people every day and build relationships with my colleagues, who work across a variety of areas within ATM.
My favourite part of the week in the office is…
On a Friday we have a management team meeting, where we review the week. It’s a great opportunity to discuss successes, learnings and any challenges we’ve all had.
What has been your favourite moment in the office so far?
I would have to say doing Secret Santa with the team. I had only been in the business for a month, so it was a great opportunity to meet people in a more relaxed scenario. It acted like a bit of an icebreaker for me.
Who’s your work-husband / wife? Who is that mate in the office that makes your work day extra enjoyable?
As I’m still really new to the business, I don’t think I’ve had enough time to forge a bestie relationship yet, but I have been made to feel incredibly welcome. I’m probably the closest to my managers, as they have helped me navigate the first few months in my role. They are a great support and are really easy to talk to.
Any advice to anyone thinking of joining ATM.
It is a company that really focuses on employee personal development. If you work hard and stay focused, you will always reap the rewards and get the recognition.
